Wine Country Wedding Photographer: Cindy & James at Brix in Napa

Although I’m in that part of the season where I live and breathe shooting and editing with barely a minute to catch my breath in between, I can’t even begin to describe what an amazing year it’s been, and how lucky I feel to have met and had the chance to work with such incredible couples every weekend.  Cindy and James were the perfect example of that – and their wedding was exactly what a wedding ought to be: sweet, simple, relaxed, and absolutely beautiful.

Since all of their families were coming in from out of town, they decided to rent giant, gorgeous vacation homes for each family so that they could take a week-long vacation and spend as much time together as possible.  It couldn’t have been a more perfect set-up, especially since Cindy and her mom did so many of the decorations and details themselves, including a huge spread of amazing home made pies that stood in for the traditional wedding cake.

Their wedding was held on a perfect late-summer day in the garden behind Brix, nestled between rows of grapevines and a rose garden in full bloom.  With a wedding party of two, ceremony set to rhyme in the style of a Doctor Seuss poem, a relaxed dinner with no organized (but a few impromptu and totally charming) toasts, and a dance floor illuminated by strands of market lights overhead, it couldn’t have been a more perfect day.   From the tears in James’s eyes during the ceremony to the beaming smile on Cindy’s face that lasted from beginning to end, it’s so easy to see how happy the two of the are going to be in the years to come.

Congratulations, you two –  I know you’ll have an amazing life together!
